HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Hartford police are investigating after a 21-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday night.
Just after 11 p.m. police were called to the area of Sisson Avenue and Farmington Avenue after reports of five gunshots.
Upon arrival, officers located 21-year-old Andre Keene on the rear porch suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Keene was taken to St. Francis Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. He was pronounced dead at approximately 3 a.m.
Police said the shooting was a targeted attack. The suspect, 21-year-old Diomar Mendoza, of Hartford, was arrested Friday night.
He was charged with murder and possession of a pistol without a permit.
Police said the person is being held on a $1 million bond.
This is the sixth homicide of the year and the second case this week.
