Police identify man killed at Malibu Sports Bar in East Hartford


EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police are investigating a homicide at the Malibu Sports Bar and Lounge overnight Friday.

Police said at around 12:30 a.m. Friday, police were called to the bar at 808 Silver Lane on the report of someone shot.

Officers found an unconscious adult man in the parking lot. Officers performed CPR on the victim until he was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have identified the victim as 27-year-old Ryan Dowling of East Hartford.

Police said that there was a crowd being uncooperative and acting hostile toward police. Witnesses did tell police that two possible suspects, described as Black males in their 20s wearing all black, fled the area in a dark-colored sedan. One suspect was described as a tall man with muscular build and the second suspect was described as a shorter man with short dreads.

The investigation is ongoing.
