Officials in Glastonbury looked for the public’s help in identifying a woman struck and killed by a vehicle in the town on Tuesday evening.
According to police, around 6:20 p.m., units responded to Main Street in the area of Water Street for a report of a woman hit by a vehicle.
Authorities said the woman was transported to Hartford Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Officers describe the woman as white between 40 and 60-years-old with reddish, gray hair. She was wearing glasses with purple frames, a green Cabela’s raincoat, rain pants, and black hiking boots. At the time of the incident, she was carrying a small, red bag and a New York Yankees drink tumbler.

Police said the driver of the vehicle stopped and was cooperative with investigators. No charges have been filed at this time.
On Wednesday afternoon, officials said they had identified the victim but that her name had not yet been released.
