Pups and pizzas: Blind Pig in Hartford to host fundraisers for pets in need

Hartford

One Hartford restaurant is hosting weekly dog meetups with treats for pups (and their humans too) — and the proceeds are going to a good cause.

Blind Pig hosted its first Pups, Pints and Pizza on the Patio Wednesday night, featuring a special menu and doggy treats.

“We’ve been looking to do something that’s a fundraiser,” said Pam Downs, manager at Blind Pig, “and get the people together in Hartford together with their dogs out on our patio which is dog friendly all the time.”

10 percent of the proceeds from the night’s pup specials, like the chili cheese dog pizza, go to No Animal Left Unfed, which helps provide food to cats and dogs in the Hartford area. Blind Pig plans on picking different charities every week.

“Bring your pups down here and just have a great time, have some fun and then help some local charities with their animals,” Downs said.
