Route 190 reopens in Enfield after truck accident

ENFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) - Route 190 has reopened in Enfield following a truck accident early Thursday morning. 

According to the Enfield Police Department, Route 190 was closed between South George Washington Road and Palomba Drive due to a truck in the tree line. However, the road has since reopened.

Authorities are alternating traffic and warning drivers to expect delays.  

Officials say there were non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash.

Police say the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), the Department of Transportation, the Enfield Fire Department and a tow company were also on scene. 

According to authorities, DEEP is reporting that there is a minor diesel spillage and notable damage to the guard rail wires. 

There is no word on the cause of this accident.
