U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal will be at the state capitol on Friday to announce a new bill.
Senator Blumenthal will be joined by advocates and families impacted by the opioid epidemic at 11 a.m. in Hartford to introduce the Comprehensive Addiction Resources Emergency Care Act.

The new bill would bring over $500 million a year to Connecticut to support prevention, treatment, recovery, and support programs for people addicted to opioids.
That bill has been co-sponsored by nearly 100 members of Congress.
