63-year-old woman missing from Hartford found safe

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — UPDATE: A Silver Alert issued for 63-year-old Minerva Vargas, who was reported missing from Hartford, has been resolved.

Hartford police say that Vargas has been located safe and is being medically evaluated.


Vargas is described as a white, Hispanic woman who has black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs around 130 lbs. Vargas has a tattoo of a tiger on her left forearm.

Police say Vargas left her home at Wyllys Street at around 2 a.m. Tuesday. She is known to walk, sometimes long distances, and walks with a limp, according to police.

Police do not know what Vargas is wearing, but she is reportedly not wearing a jacket.
