Siren testing to take place in Barkhamsted, West Hartland on Wednesday


Residents in Barkhamsted and West Hartland may hear flood warning sirens during two tests on Wednesday.

According to The Metropolitan District, flood warning notification sirens adjacent to the Grange Hall in Barkhamsted and at the Goodwin Dam Hydroelectric Powerhouse in West Hartland will undergo testing.

The sirens will go off at 1:00 p.m. and again at 7:00 p.m.

Along with communities in Barkhamsted and West Hartland, those in Colebrook and Riverton may also hear the sirens.

Each test will begin and end with a voice message alerting residents that there is no emergency situation.
