Hartford

Thousands of people gathered in Hartford on Saturday to celebrate the Greater Hartford Puerto Rican Parade. It was a celebration of Puerto Rican culture and tradition.

News 8 provided live coverage of the event.

After the parade, a festival was held at Bushnell Park

“It’s nice to get together with family and friends and enjoy the beautiful day and being Puerto Rican, and representing, and especially after what happened in PR, I think the effects are deeper.”

The Connecticut Institute for Community Development was raising money during the parade to help people from Puerto Rico who are now living in Connecticut after they were displaced by Hurricane Maria.
