Threat leads to increased police presence at East Hartford High School

Hartford

There is an increased police presence at East Hartford High School on Friday due to a threat

Police say officers were made aware of a “vague threat” on Thursday night that was posted on social media

The Superintendent of East Hartford schools says that officers and the school did not deem the threat to be credible.

However as a result, there will be more police officers at East Hartford High School at 869 Forbes Street.

Lt. Joshua Litwin, of the East Hartford Police Department, confirmed to News 8 that this is a “precautionary presence.”

Police did not release any details regarding the nature of the threat.

School officials say that communication from the school principal went out to parents informing them of the threat and that the appropriate precautions have been made.
