Toll protests held at the State Capitol on Saturday

Another grass roots group taking up the fight against bringing tolls here to our state.

The Federation of Connecticut Taxpayers was at the State Capitol on Saturday protesting tolls on Interstates 91, 95 and 84, as well as Route 15.

They said that the people of this state shouldn’t be responsible for years of financial mismanagement.

Rod Hanscomb of the Libertarian Party of Connecticut said,  “I think it hits home with a lot of people there’s a point when enough taxation is enough taxation in this state.”

Laurie Hall of Burlington said, “I have not seen where they’re doing anything to cut their own expenses they are trying to put all the debt and additional fudning on the resident’s of connecticut. Enough is enough.”

Governor Lamont has said that the money from the tolls will help with road projects and upgrades.

People who do support the tolls say they are fine with it as long as the money goes to those actual projects.
