One killed, another injured in double shooting on Kent Street in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police are investigating a shooting on Kent Street in Hartford that left one person dead another recovering in the hospital on Wednesday night.

Police said they responded to Kent Street at around 5:30 p.m. on ShotSpotter activation.

Police said a nearby hospital reported two gunshot victims had arrived for treatment.

One victim, identified as East Hartford man 22-year-old Trelique Ward, suffered life-threatening injuries and later succumbed to those injuries.

A man in his thirties was listed in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Hartford police at 860-722-TIPS (8477).

Police are also investigating an unrelated fatal drive-by shooting on Sisson Avenue.
