In their two and a half seasons in Hartford, the Yard Goats have captured the hearts of countless fans.
But the Yard Goats HAVE been counting.
Every single ticket.
On Saturday, their one millionth fan walked through the gates of Dunkin Donuts Park. That lucky fan was Chris Bruff, who grew up in Bloomfield but lives with his family in Massachusetts.
“I feel completely honored, I had no idea this was going to happen tonight,” said Bruff, who attended with his wife and children. It was the Bruff family’s first time at Dunkin Donuts Park.
The Yard Goats went all out for the celebration: confetti cannons and a brass band waited for the winners to come through the gates. That lucky millionth fan threw out a first pitch, got a customized jersey, and even gets a year supply of Dunkin.
Not bad for their first Yard Goats game. For the Goats, it was important to celebrate the milestone to the fullest
“When we do something as the Yard Goats, we do it all the way,” said Yard Goats president Tim Restall. “It’s exciting, it shows how much our fans love coming out to Dunkin Donuts Park, having a good time at the Yard Goats Games.”
