Hospital of Central Connecticut launching opioid prevention and education initiative program

Action is being taken to tackle the opioid epidemic in Connecticut.

On Monday, the Hospital of Central Connecticut is teaming up with several towns and agencies.

They are launching an opioid prevention and education initiative program called Hope.

It will give officers discretion when making an arrest to have the person opt for treatment services instead.

More details will be released at a press conference on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in New Britain.
