WARREN, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut committee has unveiled a memorial to commemorate all town residents who served in World War I, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, conflicts in Lebanon and Grenada, the Gulf Wars, and the War on Terrorism.

The Republican American reports that the Warren veterans committee started the project six years ago and raised more than $70,000 to build the memorial. It features a World War I monument that was moved from the town green, three flagpoles, a retaining wall and lighting.

Vietnam War Air Force veteran Reggie Harrison, the keynote speaker for Sunday’s dedication ceremony, said, “This is probably the most impressive memorial I’ve seen in 20 or 30 years.”
