PLYMOUTH, Conn. (WTNH) — Plymouth Police are investigating a stolen vehicle crash that occurred Thursday night.

At 5:11 p.m., officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on South Main Street north of Greystone Road. Upon arrival, officers determined that one of the vehicles involved, a 2020 BMW X5, was stolen out of Madison.

Police said two suspects fled the scene into the woods along South Main Street prior to the officers’ arrival.

Police established a perimeter and searched the area with assistance from a Waterbury Police Department K-9. After multiple hours, the search was called off due to declining weather and lighting conditions, according to police.

Police believe the suspects were able to elude search teams and escape the perimeter. One of the suspects is described as a tall, thin male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. There is no description available for the other suspect.

Extra patrols will be conducted in this area throughout the night. Police are advising residents not to confront any suspicious people and to contact 911 if they see anything suspicious.
