Connecticut lawmakers are one step closer to raising the minimum wage

The General Assembly’s Appropriations Committee upheld the legislation to raise the minimum wage on Tuesday.

Governor Dannel Malloy released a statement and applauded the move.

“Every working person in Connecticut deserves to be fairly compensated, it’s that simple,” said Gov. Malloy.

Opponents against raising the minimum wage argue that it will result in less profit for companies and more layoffs.
