City of Middletown files lawsuit against Purdue Pharma


The city of Middletown is the latest to file a lawsuit seeking damages suffered in combating the opioid epidemic.

Middletown’s lawsuit targets eight members of the Sackler family, the owners of Stamford-based drug maker, Purdue Pharma.

The suit claims the Sacklers directed Purdue’s salesforce to implement deceptive marketing practices that killed Middletown residents.

The Sackler family has denied direct involvement in previous lawsuits.
