A crash involving a truck closed a portion of Route 9 Northbound in Chester on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Connecticut State Police, the collision took place in the area of Exit 6.
The incident was first reported around 2:30 p.m. and it is impacting the travel lanes of the highway.
Authorities are asking motorists to avoid the area.
The cause of the crash is not known at this time.
Officials with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection are assisting with the scene.
Police said there does not appear to be any serious injuries.
