Fire crews respond to early morning fire at vacant commercial building in Middletown


MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — Fire crews responded to a reported structure fire in Middletown early Sunday morning.

It happened on South Main Street Extension around 3:20 a.m. Initial reports say it was a vacant commercial building and that the scene is now under control.

Crews from South District, Middletown, Westfield and other mutual aid partners worked most of the night to bring the fire under control, Middletown fire said in a post.

The fire remains under investigation by the South District Fire Marshals Office and Middletown Police Department.

No injuries were reported.
