Old Saybrook firefighters quickly extinguish Meadowood Lane boat fire

OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. (WTNH) — Old Saybrook firefighters were able to quickly put out a boat fire at a home on Meadowood Lane Thursday afternoon.

Just before 2:30 p.m., News 8 received multiple phone calls from viewers reporting a large amount of black smoke in Old Saybrook. Police confirmed that a boat was on fire in the back yard of a home on Meadowood Lane.

The fire was quickly extinguished. No injuries were reported.

The Old Saybrook Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating what may have caused the fire.
