According to officials, on Monday around 3:30 p.m., units responded to a residence on Sisk Street after receiving a call from a woman who said she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Michael Mangini.
At the scene the victim told police that she told Mangini over the phone that she wanted to break up with him.
Shortly after that, Mangini entered the home in which they both were living and started yelling at the victim.
He then allegedly jumped on top of the victim and placed his hand around her throat for several seconds.
Police said Mangini punched the wall and stated that he was going to kill her. He then called his father and said he would kill him as well.
Authorities stated that the victim was able to escape after repeatedly asking if she could use the bathroom.
Officials said Mangini’s father contacted the victim and told her he told his son to turn himself in. Michael allegedly said that he had a gun, a baseball bat and a knife and that he would “go down in a blaze of glory.”
He was later located in a vehicle and a motor vehicle stop was initiated.
Mangini was apprehended without further incident.
He has been charged with two counts of threatening, strangulation and other related charges.
He is being held on a $100,000 bond and will appear in court on Wednesday.
