Police identify pedestrian killed in accident on Interstate 95 in Old Saybrook

Police from Troop F of Connecticut are investigating a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle incident incident that took place early Tuesday morning on Interstate 95 in Old Saybrook.

Authorities said the vehicle was traveling southbound on I-95 between Exits 70 and 69 when the driver came across a pedestrian in the roadway. Police said the operator was unable to avoid the pedestrian who was later identified as 51-year-old Richard Dupre Jr. of Killingworth.

Dupre sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

The incident is under investigation.
