Naugatuck small business owners support Donald Trump

Connecticut

NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WTNH) — Moe Shira is one of many small business owners in Naugatuck who voted for Donald Trump. He said he’s feeling patriotic. Before opening Moe’s Auto Service Wednesday he got out the American flags.

“I feel like we scored a point today. Hopefully Donald Trump helps us get things back on track,” said Shira.

The reason he voted for Trump is plain and simple.

“He’s a business man. I’m a business man. Yes, he has had a lot of successes and he has also had a few failures. It goes with any business, but I really think you have to run this country as a business in order for us to succeed,” said Shira.

Shira added that small businesses need help and so do people out of work.

“I hope that he will start supplying America with jobs again,” said Shira.

Joe Santos who owns Joe’s Barber Shop feels the same way.

“I’m sick of the situation. Everything is wrong and business is not like before,” said Santos.

Santos has been a business owner and U.S. citizen for over 20 years. He said Donald trump is the reason why he voted.

“Before I had people come every month now it’s every month and a half or two months because the money is short,” said Santos.

Hetty Lou Dow’s family owns Mr. D’s Tavern. She believes Trump will give small businesses the support they need.

“He was very much for the small business owners. That shows an improvement is willing to be made. He looks highly into us small business owners who struggle nowadays especially in this economy,” said Dow.

“Hopefully he can clean up the mess a little bit and get us on the right path. If he doesn’t fix it at least we starts to fix it,” said Shira.
