16-year-old killed in head-on crash

New Haven

EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A 16-year-old died in a head-on collision in East Haven on Friday afternoon.

Just before 2:30 p.m. Friday, East Haven police responded to South End Road for a report of a two-car head-on collision.

When officers arrived, they found the two drivers, and sole occupants, sustained serious injuries and both were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Police say the 16-year-old driver later died at the hospital.

The names of the drivers have not yet been released.

Police say the accident is still under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the accident or may have any information is asked to call police at (203)468-3820.
