2-year-old West Haven child found in hot car released from hospital

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) - Two-year-old Davion Jenkins, of West Haven, has been released from the hospital Monday after being found in a hot car Thursday afternoon. This information having been relayed to News 8 by the children's grandparents, Pastor's Lester and LaVerne Walters.

On Thursday at 3:00 pm, West Haven police and fire personnel were dispatched to an apartment complex located at 2 Treat Street to the report of an injured person. Upon arrival, authorities located two children, four-year-old Dusan Jenkins and two-year-old Davion Jenkins, and an adult male, later identified as the children's father.

There is no evidence that suggests the children were left in the car. Police are still in process of reviewing surveillance footage obtained from the apartment complex.

"He's doing well, he's doing well. He was running around today enjoying the game room. Right now he's resting and we are so grateful he's alive," said Pastor Lester Walters.
