3 charged in Waterbury drug bust

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) - Three people are facing charges following a drug bust in Waterbury.

According to officials, on Monday, police executed a search warrant at a home on Pilgrim Avenue.

During the investigation, police said they seized heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine and other drugs along with drug packaging material.

Units also seized a silencer for a firearm and more than $6,800.

Police arrested 38-year-old Demetrio Zaragoza-Zapata, 20-year-old Gabriel Mendez-Aguilar and 22-year-old Carlos Fernando.

Zaragoza-Zapata was charged with operating a dug factory and possession of narcotics with intent to sell, along with related charges.

Mendez-Aguilar has been charged with three counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell and interfering with a search warrant.

Fernando was charged with interfering with a search warrant.
