About 34 vehicles received flat tires on Interstate 84 and Route 8 in Waterbury on Monday morning due to a large piece of metal in the road.

Connecticut State Police say that at around 8 a.m., roughly 34 vehicles received flat tires after drivers hit a piece of metal that was in the roadway on Interstate 84 westbound and Route 8 northbound.

The Department of Transportation responded to the scene and removed the metal with a payloader.
