Access Health CT enrollment fair to be held in Hamden

New Haven

If you do not have health insurance, there is still time to sign up for Access Health CT. That’s the state’s health plan.

A recent court ruling in Texas has left some with questions surrounding these plans. If you don’t have insurance and you thought you missed the deadline, well you didn’t. There’s still time.

You now have until January 15th to sign up for Access Health CT and Tuesday there’s a fair in Hamden to help you.

Now there have been some concerns about these Affordable Care Act plans, also known as Obamacare. This is because about a month ago, a federal court judge in Texas ruled the law unconstitutional.

It was because of changes Congress made to the Individual Mandate Penalty. The decision on this will most likely end up at the Supreme Court.

So what does this mean for you, sitting on your couch needing insurance or if you are currently covered by this. Well, listen up.

State Health Officials say this should not stop people from signing up right now. Because while this is moving through the courts, health officials say it will not impact current plans or 2019 coverage. And there are all sorts of plans for different budgets.

So, once again if you want to sign up, there are people who want to help you. Head to the Enrollment Fair in Hamden at 11 Pine Street. It starts at 4:30 p.m. and goes until 8:30 p.m.

Or you can even stay on your couch, with your coffee, and do it online or even over the phone.

Once again the deadline to sign up is January 15th.
