All clear given after “suspicious white powder” prompts New Haven Register evacuation

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Officials are investigating after a “suspicious white powder” caused the evacuation of the New Haven Register building.

On Wednesday, New Haven Police and Fire Departments were called to the New Haven Register at 100 Gando Drive after a report of a suspicious white powder that was found inside of an envelope. The building was evacuated, except for a few people who may have come in contact with the powder.

Employees were allowed back in the building just before 5:30 Wednesday evening.Stay with News 8 for updates as we receive them.
