NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – A Bridgeport man sustained life-threatening injuries due to a crash and subsequent car fire in New Haven on Thursday.
New Haven police responded to the crash on Amity Road between Fowler Street and Wright Avenue around 1:40 a.m.
At the scene, officers found the car engulfed in flames and were able to successfully remove the driver. The 26-year-old driver was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
New Haven police and New Haven fire crews said they are working jointly to investigate the cause of the crash and fire. Any witnesses who have not spoken to police are urged to reach out to the NHPD at (203) 946-6316.
