DERBY, Conn. (WTNH) — A 16-year-old boy from Oxford was killed after crashing a stolen motorcycle in Derby, police said.

The crash happened on Wednesday night at Griffin Hospital near Seymour Avenue and Spring Street.

Police said witness accounts, video surveillance and physical evidence show the teen was riding “recklessly” when he lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle.

He was taken to Griffin Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said that the teen, whose name has not yet been released, did not have a driver’s license.
