Bakery creates authentic Puerto Rican treats for New Haven

In New Haven lives an authentic Puerto Rican bakery.

Carmen Mera, owner of Pan De Cielo 2, is proud to add his Puerto Rican roots to the flavors of his foods.

“I’m proud to be from Puerto Rico and share our products here in New Haven,” Mera said.

Authenticity keeps his customers coming back.

“I’ve been coming here for the last four to five years. I haven’t found a bakery better than this,” Michael Ramos said.

From breads, to pastries and cookies, if you can name it, you’ll find it here.

“All cookies are authentic Puerto Rican,” Mera said.

His most popular item, pan sobao, is a Puerto Rican staple. It’s a Puerto Rican-style bread that’s rich in flavor and rich in heritage.

Mera is honoring the Puerto Rican heritage through great taste.
