Bike to work breakfast held at Yale

New Haven

As bike month continues in New Haven, so do the celebrations.

Cyclists biked to work and were able to grab a free breakfast if they wore their helmet on Friday morning.

The Yale Office of Sustainability hosted the event. They asked for donations of used and unwanted bikes.

With this program, the city hopes they can build towards a vision where every person in every neighborhood feels safe, excited and empowered to ride their bikes.

“There’s more and more biking with the momentum in New Haven, the city is definitely really great and that they want to see more biking infrastructure implemented in New Haven. The right steps are being taken to make biking safe and more enjoyable,” said Connor Sullivan, Bike to Work Breakfast at Yale.

Donated bikes will benefit the Yale Bike Recycling Program where they can repair the bikes and provide them to local organizations and people in need.
