Body found inside burning car in Milford

New Haven

MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Officials are investigating after a body was found inside of a burning car in Milford Friday night.

Around 10:30 p.m. Friday, Milford Firefighters were called to a car fire near 1 Milford Point Road. When firefighters responded, they say they found a car fully engulfed in flames near the Connecticut Audubon Society Building.

When crews extinguished the fire, they say they found a dead body in the vehicle.

Milford Fire and Police Departments are working with the Connecticut State Police Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit and the State Medical Examiner to figure out the victim’s identity and the cause of the fire.
