A Branford man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly struck his ex-girlfriend and a male companion with his car Monday night, then fled the scene.
According to Branford police, 24-year-old Matthew Trammel, of Branford, was involved in a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend at an East Main Street condo complex. Following the dispute, Trammel allegedly struck his ex-girlfriend and her male friend with his car.
Responding officers quickly found Trammel as he was attempting to enter the parking lot of a nearby motel. He was taken into custody without incident.
Both victims were taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital. Officers said the man suffered serious injuries.
Trammel was charged with multiple crimes, including assault, reckless driving, and evading responsibility. He was held on a $100,000 bond, and was arraigned Tuesday.
