Buses Catch Fire in Meriden

New Haven

MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Fire officials are investigating what may have started a bus fire around 1:30 am on Monday.

Meriden’s assistant fire chief says two buses used for the YMCA were parked in a parking lot when one of them caught fire.  The fire spread to the bus next to it.

This fire took place in a municipal lot over at 44 Hanover Street. According to Meriden fire officials, the fires were quickly brought under control.

As of now, firefighteres are saying that it does not look like a case of arson, but they are still not sure what exactly started the fire. Nobody was injured in the fire.

We are told that although the buses were used by the YMCA, the fire won’t affect bringing kids to school.
