Christmas tree returns to Waterbury Green

New Haven

It’s only October, but Christmas has returned to the Waterbury Green.

On Wednesday morning, public works crews hauled in a Christmas tree.

They planted it on the Green so that it will be ready for the holidays.

This move comes after the community put up their own small tree last year in a plaza across the street from the Green and people decorated it.

After that, the mayor promised to bring an official tree to the city for 2018.

The tree was donated to the city by The Longo Family in a loved one’s memory.
