Convicted felon from Waterbury charged with possession of a firearm

A convicted felon from Waterbury has been charged after allegedly possessing a firearm.

According to officials, on May 7th, a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging 29-year-old Anthony Morales with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Morales was arrested on Monday and pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The indictment alleges that on January 19th, Morales possessed a loaded .38 caliber revolver and had loose ammunition.

He has been detained pending a detention hearing on May 17th.
