HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) – A fire destroyed a home on Downs Road in Hamden Thursday morning.
Hamden Fire Marshall Brian Dolan said crews responded to the scene around 12:50 a.m. The fire started in the garage.
Three people inside the home when the fire started were able to get out safely.
Officials said there was a partial collapse of the structure and that tankers from surrounding towns provided water to battle the fire since there were no fire hydrants in the area.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
