Criminal charges are being recommended as the criminal investigation of the Seymour High School football program continues.
It is still not clear why these charges are being recommended and who would face exactly what charges.
News 8’s Mario Boone has been told former head football coach Tom Lennon is not expected to be charged, but prosecutors will make the final decision on his fate.
This comes after Seymour police wrapped up their investigation that began over the summer of the entire Seymour High School football program.
The probe resulted in coach Lennon being placed on administrative leave and several assistant coaches either fired or quitting.
News 8 reached out to the superintendent and school board chair, but those calls have not been returned.
On Monday evening, Seymour Police Chief Paul Satkowski confirmed the case file is now in the hands of the state’s attorney’s office.
The chief released a statement, saying, “We investigated this complaint thoroughly and the case was forwarded for review at Milford Superior Court.”
Coach Lennon has not been charged in this case nor is he believed to be among those recommended for criminal prosecution.
