FD: 2 animals die in Meriden barn fire


Two animals died in a barn fire in Meriden late Thursday morning.

According to officials, around 11:30 a.m., crews received multiple calls reporting a fire and explosions at a barn located at 187 Canyon Drive.

At the scene, firefighters found a fully-involved barn fire with multiple other buildings starting to burn.

Crews were able to extinguish the flames, but the barn was a total loss.

Firefighters added that two animals died in the fire, but no other injuries were reported.

The blaze remains under investigation.
