FD: Truck catches fire while towing boat in Branford

News

Fire crews said a truck caught fire while it was towing a boat in Branford on Sunday.

According to officials, the blaze broke out while the truck was driving along Interstate 95.

Crews said the occupants were able to pull into a rest area when the flames started. They were then able to disconnect the boat and remove most of their personal belongings before the fire became too intense.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.

No injuries were reported.
