Up to 12 residents displaced following structure fire in New Haven

New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The New Haven Fire Department is on the scene of a structure fire early Monday morning.

Fire crews were dispatched to 31 Harding Place early Monday morning. Police say the fire could be seen on the side of the house at the time of arrival.

The fire chief tells News 8 that everyone inside made it out safely and no one was hurt.

CJ, a resident of the home, says she has her daughter to thank, “If it wasn’t for my daughter waking me up, you and I wouldn’t be talking right now at all, because she’s the one who spotted it first.

“We have probably about twelve residents inside that are going to be displaced. The Red Cross is on the way,” Teo Baldwin, Battalion Chief, New Haven FD.

No word on the cause of the fire.
