Former Mayor Harp staffer charged with larceny, identity theft

A former staffer from New Haven Mayor Toni Harp’s office has been charged with larceny and identity theft.

Police say that Bianca Bowles was arrested on a warrant Thursday following an investigation into alleged theft via credit card. She was charged with larceny and identity theft.

New Haven officials stated that Bowles allegedly used a city credit card to charge more than $13,000 worth of items for personal use over a period of a few months.

In August, Bowles was fired and escorted out of city hall after the charges were discovered.

Bowles spent four years in Mayor Harp’s office. According to city records, she was a receptionist before serving as an administrative assistant in the Department of Youth Services.
