Freddy Fixer parade marches through the Elm City

New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– The Freddy Fixer parade marched through the streets of the Elm City Sunday.

Sixty-two marching bands,16 floats, drummers, college step and vendors made their way through the Dixwell and Newhallville neighborhoods. The parade’s message is fixing, cleaning up and reviving those neighborhoods.

“This parade is awesome. It gives the kids something to do. It’s beautiful. It’s a beautiful thing,” said Tiesheka Jones, a neighbor.

A family day festival with more live entertainment, dance contests, face painting and other fun was held after the parade.
