Gov. Lamont offers $1 bus fare in exchange for tolls

Governor Ned Lamont is pushing hard for tolls and his transportation plan with just a few weeks left in the legislative session. 

He was at Union Station in New Haven on Monday, looking toward the future of high-speed rail service through the Elm City. 

He said the best way to fund better transportation is through tolls.

During his speech, Governor Lamont tried to sweeten the deal for tolls. 

He said if he succeeds in getting tolls back on our state’s highways, he’ll cut CTtransit bus fares from $1.75 to $1 per trip.
