The Guilford Fire Department is warning residents of a scam involving town firefighters

The Fire Department advised residents on their Facebook page to be wary of telephone solicitations seeking donations from Guilford firefighters.

This warning stemmed from the department receiving several inquiries from residents who were solicited by phone for donations to the department.

Guilford firefighters say that they do not contract with any other third parties to solicit donations by phone. So anyone claiming to represent the department is not acting on their interest.

Anyone with questions or concerns regarding the scam can call Chief Charles Herrschaft at (203) 453-8056.
