A kitten was rescued by a Hamden Animal Control Officer and Good Samaritan after being stuck in a car tire last week, according to authorities.
A Hamden Animal Control officer responded on August 14th to a report of a cat being stuck in between a car tire and brake pad.
Officials were dispatched to the area of Dixwell Avenue and Arch Street after a woman reported hearing a cat “vocalizing” from within her vehicle as she was driving, according to Hamden Police.

After stopping the vehicle police say a Good Samaritan, Michael Morgillo of Hamden, came to the 6-week-old kitten’s aid and started to remove the cat from in between the tire and brake pad. Police say this swift action caused the cat to be removed safely without further injury once they arrived.
Officials say the kitten was transferred to the North Haven Animal Hospital for treatment and didn’t sustain any significant injury.
