Hamden PD: Woman attacks teen on public bus

Hamden Police are searching for a woman they say attacked a teen on a CT Transit bus.

Officials say a 16-year-old boarded a bus in the area of Dixwell and Putnam Avenues. The woman, who has not yet been identified, began provoking her upon boarding the bus. 

According to the child, the woman began making demeaning statements towards her before throwing a cup of soda in her direction. The suspect then started striking the teen with closed-fist punches. 

The youth was also bit on the forearm, according to police.The victim sustained injuries to her neck and face as well.

She was transported to a local medical facility. 

Police are describing the suspect as about 40 years of age, 5’9″ with a heavy build. Surveillance footage from the bus has captured her photo.
